A very different kind of book from the writer formerly (and still occasionally) known as Lemony Snicket. It does tell you right there in the title that it will be dirty, so you can't really be mad at it. I would advise spiderfelt_0 below not to wash eyes at with soap. Also, it is not stream of consciousness (Sorry AL). Written in a staccato style, it is about a teenage boy who is not just obsessed with sex, but is having lots of it. He gets a "reputation," but because he's a guy it's not a big deal. However, he meets somebody he genuinely likes and things get complicated. While this generation has much easier access to pornography, I'm not sure the adolescent lust has changed all that much. I appreciate that he takes the subject seriously and is boldly explicit, but because it's told in first person, we're trapped with this somewhat unpleasant, unlikable, and very horny boy whose shallowness is both emblematic and off -putting. Oddly, the animated "Big Mouth" on Netflix is a more nuanced and thoughtful treatment of a similar subject. Is this iGen's "Portnoy's Complaint"?
