I recommend this book to those willing to navigate through the life of a girl who lives in Maine. This book can be introduced in a classroom when exploring different states. It depicts life in the early 70's. The overall theme of the book is very beneficial to kids because they learn that little things lost are easy to get over because it makes them stronger and prepares them for similar things that may occur in the future. The illustrations are delightful and interesting, and actual look realistic to pictures of Maine. I do believe that some younger children may find this book hard to connect to because they may not be interested in the typical life of others but because my interest is diverse I was able to enjoy the book.
