The Medical Book

From Witch Doctors to Robot Surgeons : 250 Milestones in the History of Medicine

I really enjoyed reading these little gobbets of medical history. The bibliography is fairly good, but the library I use doesn't have most the items listed, not even those mentioned under 'general'. I was most edified by the numerous entries on anatomy, which went through numerous developments, and made note of the books mentioned. There was a curious lack of what were called 'curiosities' or 'monstrosities', though historically, their investigation, including their anatomy, were a major contributor to the development of medical science, much to the embarrassment of today's doctors.
