The book of awesome can only be expressed as one word, AWESOME. From the moment I started reading The Book of Awesome I knew that author Neil Pasricha was extraordinary. His observations on life's little joys are at once simple and deep. He brings to these observations the keen eye of a writer, the wit of a humorist, and the openness of an eternal optimist. This is just an unbeatable combination. This book will bring a glimpse of beautiful things that are often unappreciated in life. To date this book has had almost 12 million hits, won 2 webby awards, been on CNN, BBC and the front page of The Toronto Star. The best part is it is suitable for any age group, therefore enjoyed by millions. The author creates a atmosphere of easiness and relatability. It is a high five for humanity and a big celebration of life's little moments. I’ve talked a lot about any small victory being worth celebrating. That’s what I saw in Pasricha’s book: it’s a litany of the small pleasures in life that make it so good at times, provided we can slow down enough to acknowledge them. Life is hard and lots of people get cynical and bitter. Pasricha’s lists of small pleasures are not sentimental, sappy little quotes. He’s an optimist, that is for sure. I’d recommend spending some time over on Neil’s blog. If you like what you’ll see, you’ll definitely love the book.
