A patron review from the Adult Summer Game: "This book is a disturbing story of a deranged and murderous uncle's influence on a oung boy. Keith Hayword is 12, and his relationship with his Uncle Till sets in motion his progress into evil doings. Already troubled, his uncles coaching provides further motivation and permission for him to increase the level of his abhorrent behavior. By the age of 16, Keith is killing and dissecting the neighbourhood pets. While in high school, he inadvertently saves a m ale student, Tomek Miller, from a humiliating act of bullying and degradation. By 19, Keith has effectively enslaved Tomek both sexually and psychologically and involves him in his dark undertakings. Although not willingly complicit, Miller cooperates because of weakness an dfear. When Keith discovers the extent of his uncle's crimes, he decides to give his uncle the "ultimate Christmas present". Even at this point, Uncle Till gives Keith further advice on how to succeed in fulfilling his malicious desires and the reader understand at the conclusion of this book that further acts of hooror will be perpetrated by these men. This is a profoundly unsettling story. It doesn't offer reasons for their perverted behavior and illegal acts, just that they are excited by them. Truly, this is a frightening story because it is a sad fact that disturbed, malevolent individuals capable of reprehensible, detestable, inhuman acts of violence do indeed exist among us."
