This movie isn't as good as some folks said or as bad as others said. It's just middle of the road "Thriller" that has adequate performances in a script that could've been a lot better. The director does a good job of capturing a mood of anxiety and uncertainty. This had the feel of one of the mediocre Stephen King novels made into a television movie. But the scene where they walk into the field with the wind blowing, and they hold hands...major eye roll. Then the first line of dialog after that scene was "The event must have ended before we went out there." Give me a break. This big build up through the whole movie and all we see is a breeze? If they wanted to have an environmental message why did they make it so stupid? Really plants rapidly evolving their chemistry to send out toxins to humans? And the last 30 seconds was so predictable from Shyamalan. His scripts so often seem like they were written by a college freshman in a creative writing class. Not the the 10 worst films I've seen. But not that good. I'd give it a C-
