Greer Garson and Gregory Peck, both magnificent actors, play lovers, one a servant girl, and the other a millionaire from a family that owned a major steel mill in Pittsburgh. This film was included in a string of five years straight in which Greer received an Oscar nomination (which included a win in the year she played "Mrs. Miniver.") The film was slightly marred by tiny appearances of two African-American train porters to remind us of the decades in which Hollywood had a policy of including Black actors only as either serviles or bufoons.
