It's the most wonderful time of the year… and the perfect moment to escape to a charming English village! From the beloved author whose novels are "sheer indulgence from start to finish" (SOPHIE KINSELLA) comes a delightful holiday story — funny, heartfelt, romantic and packed with recipes — perfect for the winter months.

In the Cornish coastal village of Mount Polbearne, the Christmas season has arrived. It’s a joyous time for family, friends, and feasting, as decorations sparkle along the town’s winding streets and shop windows glow with festive displays. And in Polly’s Little Beach Street Bakery, the aroma of gingerbread cookies and other treats tempts people in from the cold.

Though Polly is busy keeping up with the demands of the season, she still makes time for her beekeeper boyfriend, Huckle. She’s especially happy to be celebrating the holiday this year with him, and can’t wait to cuddle up in front of the fireplace with a cup of eggnog on Christmas Eve.

But holiday bliss soon gives way to panic when a storm cuts the village off from the mainland. Now it will take all of the villagers to work together in order to ensure everyone has a happy holiday.

Full of heart and humor, Jenny Colgan’s latest novel is an instant Christmastime classic.

I cried. I (almost) never cry over books--but this one got me. I spent most of the book furious at how stupid people can be and at how easily one stupid mistake can ruin a life--or a family or two families. If you have read the two previous books in this series, you know and love the people and you also know that you need to set aside about 6 hours to do nothing but read this book. It is almost impossible to put down. It reminds me of watching a video of an massive avalanche--you can't stop looking even as the destruction and havoc reach epic proportions.

The last book in the trilogy - I couldn't put this book down and read it well into the night! Another delightful story about Polly and friends.
It's makes your mouth water reading about all the delicious bread and goodies that she bakes! A must read and well recommended! :-)

No stars at all for this one. I wanted to write my comments about this book to the author but there is no way to contact her by email, so I will write here.
This book takes place during the Christmas Season, a time of love and inclusiveness. Instead the author has chosen to cast one of her characters, A rich Jewish male with a non-Jewish wife with all the anti-Semitic stereotypes she could find about Jews- rich, loud, aggressive, pushy, and ill mannered. The author has obviously never met many Jewish people. I, personally, don't know any of the type she so hatefully characterizes. I did not finish the book, and this is the last one of hers that I shall be reading.

And a Merry Christmas to you, Ms. Colgan.
Thank you. Kathryn Stern Braunstein

This is the perfect light read after a series of heavy hitting books. Polly, her boyfriend Huckle, and Neil, their adopted puffin are getting ready for Christmas on Mount Polearne. Polly's friend Kerensa is expecting her first child and is totally miserable as she's not sure who the father is. As Polly navigates her financial woes and relationship misunderstandings, the novel moves at a fast clip until the surprise climax during Christmas week. A good escape book for a few hours of lazy pleasure.

I have enjoyed the other books in this series and this one was a great conclusion to the little series, coming at a happy and festive time. A great story to curl up on the couch with, under a cozy blanket and cup of cocoa in hand.

Welp... rats. I couldn't get past the first few chapters. I found this a boring start and it did not engage me to go further. I will return early, so the others waiting can have a shot.

Christmas with Polly and her Puffin Neil, you can't go wrong. Another lovely story to add to the Little Beach Street Bakery Series.
