Monsieur Lapin is a magician who uses rabbits as assistants. Not all are meant for the stage, but among them is Houdini, a white rabbit who shines both in and out of the spotlight. Then, one day, a performance goes awry. Monsieur Lapin becomes an actual lapin, and Houdini has to step up. Fame comes quickly to the little guy, but he soon learns that it isn't all that it's cracked up to be. So, for his final act, he does something truly magical, he makes everyone happy. Rabbit Magic is full of adorably round bunnies doing silly things. The illustrations were done digitally, however, there is a pencil-like quality to the lineart, and a softness to the palette, that gives it a more traditional medium feel. Page composition is especially worthy of note because of how successfully the artist uses space and colour to describe the tone, and for how she encourages the eye to flow naturally over them. In summary, it's a very cute, and funny book about sharing the spotlight.
