A well written story , worth reading.

This is a beautifully written book oscillating between present time and events during World War II. The cadence and rhythm is perfectly set from one chapter to the other and you'll find it hard to put down. At the front of my library copy there is a photo of a couple and at the back of this extraordinary book the author explains that many of the events are based upon real stories. You'll learn of the courageous Jews who fought with the Nazis and why the reasons are so layered an complex.

A light read but an intriguing plotline. I hadn't counted on the christian agenda that suddenly popped up and sidetracked the story.

Awesome book! Geisle's life running perpendicular with Chloe's present time life flows beautifully through the book. I was on the edge of my seat through different times. A must read!!

This historical fiction book is based on a little known historical fact that some Jews actually fought in the Nazi army in order to save relatives. This story woven around a French family during WWII and a young ancestor trying to uncover family secrets is an excellent read.

It is THE most wonderful book ever writing. Melanie Dobson is a genius.
