Unlike the Alex Cross books I've read recently, this was fairly enjoyable. John O'Hara (or The Tourist, or whatever else he's calling himself) is a pretty decent, likable hero. And Nora Sinclair, the villain, is interesting as well. There are some problems with the plot - characters like Patsy the nurse who are never fully developed or explained, and I still don't completely understand the business with the list of names and accounts. Patterson seems to think it's pretty simple to murder someone with an untraceable poison, or to transfer large amounts of money from someone's account without their knowledge. He glosses over these plot difficulties without fully explaining how they're done. But his readers (most of his readers) don't seem to mind.
One final word about sex. Nora is a black widow serial killer. She uses sex to entrap wealthy men, steals their money, then kills them. The sex in the book isn't overly graphic, but it's there, throughout the book.

(The first book in the Honeymoon series)

A fast paced read sure to grab the reader and hold on fast until the very end. I admit, the opening scene must be one of the most riveting I've ever read. From that moment on, I couldn't put the book down and finished it within two days, even faster than I'd initially anticipated.

His books are a fast read and his female black widow character is interesting. However, I found there were loose ends not tied up, and funeral details and other situations not believable. I'm beginning to see it's who he writes with that determines how good the book will be—at least for me. For instance, I was much more satisfied with "Guilty Wives" and his main female character.
