The Old Testament brings the story of Joseph, beloved son of Jacob and servant of God. The eldest son of Jacob and Rachel, sold into slavery by his brothers, who were jealous of his favor with Jacob and unhappy when their father gifted him with a coat of many colors. While in Egypt, Joseph's great obedience to God gained him positions of authority, first in the household of, Potiphar, then while he was serving in prison and later he was placed as Governor over all Egypt by Pharaoh himself.
