Marie Tharp loved maps, even as a child. She sometimes felt maps spoke to her, encouraging her to be adventurous and make new discoveries. As an adult, Marie painstakingly created maps of the seafloor throughout the world. Furthermore, her maps & research were pivotal in proving the theory of continental drift.
Told in first-person, this book sheds light on a pioneer in a field of science that is not studied very often. It is also a testament to the power of a childhood passion blossoming into a fulfilling career. Ages 7 - 10
