Dec 2017.....Wow, what a journey, I felt like I was along for the ride.......going down that cliff with the wheel scraping one side, and the drop on the other......eeks!

This is a very painless way to experience a little history ... learning some facinating things you didn't know you wanted to know.

His format alternates between the current day and the past. For example, he soon discovers he has packed too much unnecessary gear. He bridges that observation to historic recollect of the objects discarded along the trail. Similarly his experience with selecting the mules and the frequency of wagon repairs, leads to a primer on those "technologies" in the 1800's .
