An in-depth look into the life of fashion icon Iris Apfel, and her husband of over 60 years: the quick-witted, flamboyantly dressed 93-year-old style maven with an outsized presence on the New York & Palm Beach fashion scenes. Despite the abundance of glamour in her current life, Iris continues to embrace the values and work ethic established during a middle-class Queens upbringing during the Great Depression.

Apparently, if you are reasonably wealthy, and willing/able to have everything that is crammed into your home (and multiple other storage places) dusted regularly and/or kept otherwise fairly organized on all sides of the little pathways winding through it, your hoarding is celebrated as "collections" and "a child's dream". Other than that very real weirdness, this eccentric nonagenarian - weighed down as she always is in mounds and layers of unmatched and unlikely ornaments - seems sharp as a tack and really quite likable.

An unfortunate case of a cover being more interesting than the documentary it conceals. The character is interesting, but there is little structure to this feature and a lot of the shots look like they were taken by a nervous first-timer with a shaky hand. Overall, lots of potential but failure in delivery.

Gentle wee documentary. It's all about the clothes, the jewellery, and talking about the clothes and jewellery. I liked it.

Different kind of documentry, has no point really. Enjoyed the love story but found lots of footage useless.

Not my kind of documentary.
Am not into fashion or costume jewelry.

what a fascinating glimpse inside of her world! Her wacky style and artistic process are so iconic - what a life!

Doesn't merit more than 15 minutes of viewing. Iris collected cheap jewelry, became a b-list NYC celebrity with fashionistas, was an interior designer (no examples shown of her signature style), started a vintage-pattern-based textile company (no examples highlighted). A facile and artificial way to gain notoriety may well be to dress 'colorfully' and were bright red lipstick when you are of a certain age.

I love characters, and Iris Apfel qualifies as one of the most confident and courageous, unexpected heroes of fashion, without really even trying. And maybe that's the key. She was eccentric, a bit of a hoarder (or just an extreme collector?), and had an amazing husband who loved her through it all. This documentary was made at just the right point in Iris's life, allowing her to reflect on (but never apologize for) her amazing career. May we all find and live our passion the way Iris Apfel did!

This is an endearing and uplifting film about a splendidly unique and creative individual! You do not need to be interested in fashion to appreciate this feisty and fabulous lady and be inspired to live a more creative and daring life.

Love her - what a life she's had - and still has - very interesting & fun documentary about an incredible woman (and her husband).
