Okay loved the concept of this movie incredible to think the human mind is so much more powerful than we can imagine. For a horror film not bad not bad at all kinda gets you scared but also makes you think about the untapped human potential.

A group of researchers try to find a way to bring the dead back to life, and they succeed on doing it to a dog. However, they are caught doing these experiments and consequently, they are shut down. They attempt to do the experiments on their own, but something terrible happens. One of the experimenters, Zoe, dies in the process. Her fiancé, Frank, attempts to revive her. This is the first human they will have revived. They seem to have successfully revived her, although something seems off about her. Is this the same Zoe from before? I did not think this movie was as scary as it could have been. The idea seemed good, but the execution could’ve been better.

Wanted to like this movie more. Just not possible, due to dull script. I love horror and agree that there is lots of lazy writing in horror lately. Either they are bashing Christian religious beliefs, or having the all powerful evil creature win at the end, with no one surviving. Boring!

Different perspective on ways to maximize brain usage; like "Lucy" but nothing like "Lucy." Would Lazarus II be about testing the drug on living people then?

It feels too long and it's 83 minutes long. It takes forever to get going and then jumps right over any tension, suspense, or horror. Light turns off, comes on and boo... That happens 12 times and it wasn't scary the first time they did that trick. It should have jumped to the chase and then taken their time, building the tension. I didn't care for any of the characters, I knew exactly where it was going, and not 1 single scare in the movie. I suppose if I paid to see it that would have been scary. Watch Insidious 1 or 3, or Sinister instead. Or even the worst Stephen King based film. The sooner I forget this movie the better.

The movie started off slow and I was about to turn it off but I wanted to give it a chance. It started to pick up and get interesting. Wasn't the best horror movie. As my sister puts it"it's disappointing".

Yes it has ideas of Cujo, Pet Semetary, Re-Animator, amongst others, but is there an actual BRAND NEW IDEA in horror more than once or twice a year?..I would not PAY to see this, but to borrow this type of film, done very well, and with good performances, well this is what straight to dvd SHOULD be all about. An enjoyable little sci-fi horror with a couple of " WHOA" moments that before you know it, the popcorn is all gone and the movie is coming to an end.....a bit of a disappointing end, not bad, just could have been more.
Enjoy this movie as it is probably one of the better ones I have borrowed of the last 100 or so of this type.

Note to bearslapper a couple comments down...have you seen children of the corn 1 - 7,8, or whatever they are up to...Stephen King ??? please

What a shame! This movie had so much potential.

The director did exactly what trotter73 said. You can see it as homage to Frankenstein, Pet Cemetary, Carrie, and Re-Animator or you can say the director just stole bits from past horror films and made a mashup monster movie. Scary but not all that scary.

It has a couple of moments,.. but its primarily hackneyed and unoriginal.

(Perhaps its actually a thinly veiled attack on stem cell research !?)
