This book is so easy to understand and has a lot of really good pictures. Even if you aren't super into ornithology it makes a good read! I love birds, and this was just what I was looking for. Five stars!

If you have a serious interest in birds or if you have only the mildest of interest, this book is perfect for you! Filled with wonderful photographs and all kinds of fascinating facts and details about bird life, the things they are doing all around us and most of us are barely aware of. You don't have to read this book word-for-word either, just browsing through is fun enough.

This book focuses on a selection of over 2 dozen American bird species that you’re likely to see around your neighborhood. This heavily illustrated volume is fun to browse but also very concisely informative. Captions accompanying each color image make it easy to identify the birds, their nests & eggs, and young offspring.
The introductory chapters go over general bird mating, nesting, and parenting behaviors. Each subsequent 6-page chapter delves into more information on a particular species, with family secrets and other fascinating facts presented occasionally in a sidebar.
The next time you notice some nesting behavior happening around you, pick up this book and look inside the lives of these fascinating familiar birds.
