Kind of slow paced for a while, but just hang on until the end of the book. Warning - Very sad at the end.

Unfortunately this is a very boring read. I was reading this book with my six year old son and we were both really bored. Way too much dialogue and too much description about pointless stuff. There are some nice moments in there but it takes way too long to get to them. Very disappointing.

I read a lot of bad reviews of this book. Almost all of them are justified.
This is young Luke, but he's almost impossibly humble and teenage and most of the time you'll want to smack him upside the head.
Not a vital read, even for the one mention of the New Order hinting at a link to the new movie.

A rather bland read. I was hoping for something more like Micheal A. Stackpole's I, Jedi and was profoundly disappointed. The plot was trite, the fights were predictable and there was no suspense. The relationship between Luke and Nakari was unnecessary and over emphasized. In fact, it was only built to make the climax "more dramatic", but if you know Star Wars you can guess what happens to Nakari. As trotter73 said, the author also talks too much about their food. This book is a decent example of why there's only been one first-person Star Wars novel (I, Jedi), which I highly recommend instead of this one.

I like how it's from Luke's point of view while he's still such a naïve Force user.

I wasn't impressed. Not enough action and the conversations between the characters were boring.
It felt like the author had to meet a page quota so he wrote a lot of unrequired material, like all the time talking about their food. I don't care about nerf burgers and caf.
