I really liked the story in the beginning that talked so much about Gotham and the mystery presented by it's environment. Having read this just after reading the Wrath which was the volume before, this one was kind of a let down after intense build up and climax of the previous.

An illusion takes shape in Gotham City as the heart of this collection, with extra stories in the mix. Batman finds himself in a Gotham different from what he might expect, and the only person he can trust is a familiar adversary. Layman and company do fine work with the flagship title and the characters.

Well, I did read that they were trying to make this title kid friendly, so the storytelling is a bit basic.
