Arianna Huffington's personal wakeup call came in the form of a broken cheekbone and a nasty gash over her eye -- the result of a fall brought on by exhaustion and lack of sleep. The co-founder and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post, one of the fastest growing media companies in the world, celebrated as one of the world's most influential women, gracing the covers of magazines, she was, by any traditional measure, extraordinarily successful. Yet as she found herself going from brain MRI to CAT scan to echocardiogram, to find out if there was any underlying medical problem beyond exhaustion, she found herself wondering, is this really what success feels like? In Thrive, she has written a passionate call to arms, looking to redefine what it means to be successful in today's world. A very HuffPo pop version of much better books by actual experts who made the same points before. So disappointed.

Written for women. As a woman and mother I whole heartedly enjoyed this book it offers a woman’s perspective on life and “success”. if I was male I am not sure how I would have reacted because all the principles have been presented in a womanly way. One of my favorite reads this year!

I don't know why but somehow I assumed that "thrive" would be a book which would tell me how to achieve more in a fast paced day by acting faster using technology. Imagine my surprise therefore, when the book advised me to redefine success. Huffington advocates living a life of well-being, wisdom, and wonder and emphasizes the importance of giving of oneself. I would say this book will go a long way in increasing any reader's sense of wellness and if you actually put into practice what she says you will certainly "thrive!" I already feel calmer and more at peace with myself.

This is a wonderfully written guide for defining that work/life balance we are all striving for. Much more informative and supportive than I expected. She is a talented researcher and writer.
