"Meet Don Tillman, a brilliant yet socially challenged professor of genetics, who's decided it's time he found a wife. And so, in the orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers. Rosie Jarman is all these things. She also is strangely beguiling, fiery, and intelligent. And while Don quickly disqualifies her as a candidate for the Wife Project, as a DNA expert Don is particularly suited to help Rosie on her own quest: identifying her biological father. When an unlikely relationship develops as they collaborate on the Father Project, Don is forced to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie-- and the realization that, despite your best scientific efforts, you don't find love, it finds you" -- from publisher's web site.

Very fun. If you like it, try Adrian Mole Diaries by Sue Townsend

Great book to listen to when you need to relax or convalesce. Entertaining. Best without the critical thinking cap, though.

I adored this book. Don Tillman is an original and fun main character. Highly recommended.

The glimpses inside a genius male mind and the excellent Aussie presentation by Dan O'Grady of the audio version is so well done I frequently smiled or laughed aloud. I identified with the way protagonist Don thought even though I'm not brilliant and I'm female. A delicious read that was over 'way before I wanted to finish reading it. Well done, Graeme Simsion.

Awesome main character! Like the t.v. series "Monk" but better. Definitely had me giggling. Opposites attract.....

Fantastic audiobook! I enjoyed listening to it so much that I wished I had more laundry to fold, more weeds to pull, more mindless chores to do. I found myself laughing out loud repeatedly. Now that I've finished, I might just start it over again!

I departed from my usual steady fare of detective stories to enjoy a delightful story of an autistic genetics professor who sets out to find a wife using a lengthy questionnaire of acceptable traits. Everything is either correct or incorrect. While working on his Wife Project, he gets sidetracked helping a young woman, the eponymous Rosie, in her quest to find out who her real father is. Rosie, of course, as a drinking, smoking, brilliantly-dyed redhead, is totally unsuitable as a mate. And if you can’t predict how this one ends, you’re somewhere “on the spectrum” yourself. Still, it’s all good fun. The setting is Australia and I recommend the audiobook version. The reader is excellent, with a charming Aussie accent. This has been a best-seller for weeks, and this time it’s with good reason.

Loved, loved, loved this book. I was sorry to have to leave Don and Rosie behind. Gentle, fun, intelligent -- a gem. (I may have a touch of asperger's myself, just possibly.)

Loved the story. If you like quirky characters Don Tillman is your man and Dan O'Grady, the reader, is the perfect voice for Don.

Loved this. Its subtle humor was the best. Narrator was really good at capturing the tone. Funny.
