This is an interesting take on the telling of the Princess and the Pea fairytale. Told in several points of view, from the pea itself, to the queen, to the prince, to the princesses who are being tested. While the idea is a clever one, the execution could have been much better. So many different voices make it hard to follow at some points and drag the story down in pace. This book is definitely best enjoyed older elementary school students and could be useful on a lesson on points of view in storytelling.
