Beautiful fifty-eight-year-old Fenny Dexter lives a quiet life in California where she loves to spend time with JC and Vivi, two young women she has raised since their childhood after the death of their mother. When a blood-covered man knocks on Fenny's door, claiming to have had a car accident, it sets off a sequence of events involving serial killings and eventually the question whether Fenny and the girls will live long enough to find out just who and what the stranger is.

This could have been a good story but there were way too many inconsistencies with the timeline, like people "knowing" things that weren't revealed until a later chapter. It also became a little random, trying to follow so many "main" characters. Unless her other books are markedly different, I would not read this author again.
