Found it different than anticipated. Not one that you have to pay close attention to when watching.

A surprisingly high gore quotient in this patchy but watchable fairytale romp. Main gripe? Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner as siblings of around the same age? He's 15 years older than her... almost less believeable that witches on broomsticks and trolls. Ends in such a way that clearly a sequel or sequels was in mind.

Updated weapons still set in pre- industrial age. Kind of cute but bloody. not for kids.

lol, I thought this was a PG-13 movie when I checked it out. Good fantasy action movie with good camera angles for the fight scenes. The computer graphics weren't bad and seemed adjusted well for the scenes. Some funny over the top gory scenes. At least one good plot twist, but nothing much more comes from it. Weaponry is not all your typical fantasy type weapons. Made me wonder who was the inventor or smith who made them.

Standard fare. Watch it once, then throw it into the witch's oven. Still enjoyable in a silly sort of way.
