Katie's world is shattered by the news that her headstrong and bohemian younger sister, Mia, has been found dead at the bottom of a cliff in Bali. The authorities say that Mia jumped--that her death was a suicide. Although they'd hardly spoken to each other since Mia suddenly left on an around-the-world trip six months earlier, Katie refuses to accept that her sister would have taken her own life. Distraught that they never made peace, Katie leaves her orderly, sheltered life in London behind and embarks on a journey to find out the truth. With only the entries in Mia's travel journal as her guide, Katie retraces the last few months of her sister's life and--page by page, country by country--begins to uncover the mystery surrounding her death.

Loved it. Now I've got a new author to follow.

Anyone looking for a great summer read try this one! It moves pretty quickly and has a pretty great story about the bond between siblings and they way people see each other versus they way they see themselves. I highly recommend it!

I loved this book, the story of two sisters, tragic, sad, exciting, so many things to say, hard to put down.

"Shattered by the death of her bohemian younger sister, Katie refuses to believe that her sister committed suicide and embarks on an international journey while consulting a tattered journal to retrace the final months of her sister's life." I loved this book. I’ve read a couple of books since this one, but my mind keeps taking me back to this story. The story unravels in a perfect and intriguing pace. The sisters are complete opposites, who like many siblings have a love-hate relationship. As you might expect, many secrets are revealed as Kate reads the journal of her deceased sister and travels to the places she visited in her last months. The journey is fueled with jealousy, sorrow, regret, misunderstanding, desperation, anger, and unconditional love. I hope to see more from this author in the near future
