Predictable, formulaic, boring.

Good camera work, lots of high caliber actors, but it ends there. Poor dialogue and odd pacing. Found this to be a boring movie (in spite of all the action), fast forwarded at about the 1/2 way point. Don't waste your time. Better to get a book and read it than watch this.

Above-average heist-gone-wrong/revenge fare, with the ever-entertaining Statham as the titular heavy. I felt a lot of similarity to the plot of Mel Gibson's "Payback", no coincidence as it turns out: both movies were based on the same series of pulp novels by Richard Stark, though this one is the first in which the main character is actually called "Parker."
Btw, the Lopez role was a bit of a head-scratcher. Did she accept it just so she could hang out in Palm Beach while not shooting?

I've never been a Taylor Hackford fan. I always think of his movies as dumbed down for a mass audience trapped at a junior-high level of comprehension. There is no better example of what I'm talking about here than RAY (2004). But with PARKER, Hackford is working with action, tough-guy star Jason Statham (who seems to make three pictures a year). No dumbing down is required. I like Jason Statham. SAFE (2012), a story written and directed by Boaz Yakin about a fighter and former cop (played by Statham) caught between the Russian mafia and the Chinese Triads, is thoroughly enjoyable. But PARKER is not of that caliber. PARKER is a movie we've all seen before. A heist picture with a double-cross. The plot chugs along, and the viewer's interest is maintained by the slimmest of margins. A great deal of credit for any success of this film should go to Jennifer Lopez, who manages to take an unbelievable character and make her the most interesting part of the movie.

Don't bother. The actors are all great, but its extremely violent and yet quite boring at the same time. I kept watching to see if it would get better, but it never does.

Unable to view this video because of excessive scoring upon the dvd disc. Alerted Staff and thus i cannot rate the movie. Staff at Concession are just wonderful, with all the service they help provide daily,it is an easy experience and fun too. Thank you so much...Keep cool, cause it is a hot one out there today.

I like Jason Statham which is why I picked this one up to watch. I knew it wasn't going to be all that great acting wise because Jennifer Lopez was in it. I've tried, but I'm just not convinced by any of her characters. Jason was okay in this one, not his best performance. Overall the acting was medicore. The action part was a definite Statham style film.

Parker is based on a Richard Stark novel Flashfire that is one of the later Parker stories. As a movie adoptation of a Stark novel is not to bad. It of course is retooled to be more of an action flick and most of the main characters are in the movie that were in the book even the Jennifer Lopez character. Where it falls short is Parker and Claire he's woman. Niehter one are like what the movie shows you. Parker is a ruthless man and he's rules such as avoiding violence when he can is because of trouble it might breing, also Claire is not soft either, she is more or less an ex-conartist. They are not big with the I love you but still somehow you know they do. If you are look for a good action flick this movie is alright, as Parker movie it's not too bad, but know it makes Parker soft.

Whoa, Parker is some kind of guy! (Poor Jennifer Lopez, she really never had a chance!) I have to say, this movie is perhaps just an introduction to Donald E. Westlake stories for me. I am looking forward to tasting them. From the comments on his books, it looks like it will be quite a feast! I must say, I did not know who Jason Statham was until this movie, but I certainly loved him in this role. His "non-action" acting was just as good as the "action" stuff. (I like those long facial pauses, where you wonder just exactly "what is he thinking!")
