It is a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only, in Derry, the haunting is real. They were just kids when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But none of them can withstand the force that has drawn them back to Derry to face the nightmare without an end, the evil without a name.

The very first Stephen King book I read. I fell in love with King's writing style, the characters, and felt I was in the world of Derry, Maine. I found it hard to put down and couldn't wait to finish it. I've subsequently listened too it 3 or 4 times on audiobook as well. Some of the reviews talk about it being too scary. I admit is a dark book, but my 14 year old decided to listen to the audiobook and found it amazing as well. I say put your big boy pants on and dive's an awesome read!

One of my all time favorites. Scary? For sure. But the character development is also a wonderful part of the book.

SO SCARY. I can't even. Except I can, because I have like 3 times, but dear god every time I scares the lights out of me.
