The connection of children with nature. An excellent story of two poor young boys and their father, living in public housing in Ireland. The family is Gypsy-Roma and the youngest boy connects with a wild & spirited horse. The film follows their adventures and struggles to live true to their dreams & head into the West. Filmed in Ireland. Good for 8 and older, through adult.
It makes me think of "The Secret of Roan Inish"-The connection of a young girl with a seal in Ireland- by John Sayles and "The Navigator: A Medieval Odyssey" - about a visionary, time-traveling boy in Medieval England and modern New Zealand.

One of the great films from the past. The theme song, with a harp accompanying a soprano, is simply music from heaven to my ears.
