Picked up all three books in the Deadly Reunions at the same time. First book was excellent and this book is also. Picks up on original characters in book #1 and continues their story as well as enlarging to the suspense in book #. Look forward to reading book #3.

A new dead body appears every day in this fast-moving Christian suspense. Of course, the main characters find romance along the way. The plot and characters aren't all that realistic, and there isn't a strong sense of place, but that's okay--this book is all about the story. ✽✽✽ This is the second of three books in the Deadly Reunions series, which should be read together. Although one plot thread is left open at the end, there's at least some sense of closure and the end of this book; the first book simply stopped, leaving the reader frustrated. I was also more satisfied with the romance in this book; while the first book promoted dangerous ideas about love magically bridging gaps in values, the characters in this book seem much more compatible with one another. ✽✽✽ A theme in this book is how a community can support kids growing up is dysfunctional and abusive homes. It provides illustrations (perhaps caricatured) of how dysfunction spreads through a family if not addressed.
