The vivid accounts of five Holocaust survivors are brilliantly compiled with archive footage to tell the story of those who suffered through Hitler's "final solution" in the last years of the war in Hungary. The interviews form a powerful mosaic in this exceptional, Oscarʼ-winning documentary produced by Steven Spielberg and the Shoah Foundation.

I shall add this to my collection: Schindler's List, The Pianist, Life is Beautiful. How a people can do this to their neighbors is beyond my comprehension. I believe every German should be made to watch what his father and grandfather was complicit in. They all knew.

Information & films I'd not seen, heard of or realized despite many years of reading the subject. Well done, worthwhile Spielberg production. Not for the squeamish.

Amazing documentary about one of the last group of jews to be incarcerated into the concentration camps during the second world war. We hear about the horrors of losing their homes, what each had to do to survive, the heartbreak involved in tracking down any remaining family, and their future. Very touching, very important to never forget the horrors of absolute hatred.

This is a 1998 87-minute documentary about the Holocaust survivors.
Steven Spielberg was one of the executive producers, in his role as founder of the Shoah Foundation.
The film tells the stories of five Hungarian Jews during the Holocaust.
It focuses on the horrors of life in the concentration camps, but also stresses the optimism and desire to survive of the survivors.
It includes a newly-discovered historical footage and a rare interview with a former Nazi doctor at Auschwitz.
It is an amazing, heart-wrenching, gripping and thought-provoking documentary.
