For Vito Corleone nothing is more important that his family's future. While his youngest children are unaware of their father's occupation, he worries about Sonny, his eldest child. Vito pushes Sonny to be a businessman, but Sonny-17 years-old, impatient and reckless-wants something else: To follow his father's footsteps and become a part of the family business.
A prequel to "The Godfather" continues the saga of the Corleone family during the Great Depression, when Vito hides the truth of his occupation from his children and engages in violent measures to secure his family's fortunes at the end of the Prohibition Era.
