This holiday cookbook starts off with Thanksgiving recipes, Hannukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day and New Year's recipes.
I loved the story about the Queen's shortbread. The cook who supplied the recipe swore that these cookies are served to the Queen, every afternoon at tea time.
For New Year's, there were orange flavoured fortune cookies. The baker suggested rolling them in a cigar shape and then placing the fortune, inside.
I like more illustrations but these recipes were definitely family favourites for everyone's holidays.

I use UNSALTED butter because it has a sweeter more delicate taste.(Salted butters... vary in the amount of salt added by the manufacturer.)
