Zombies Don’t Cry is a humorous, but romantic high school fiction novel by Rusty Fischer about a girl by the name of Maddy Swift. Maddy is struck by lightning, only to awaken and realize she has turned into a zombie. While Maddy gets used to her new undead lifestyle, she befriends the resident “Goths”, Dane and Chloe, who she quickly learns are also zombies. Everything goes over smoothly until the three friends discover there’s two Zerkers (evil zombies) who are bent on turning the entire town into brain hungry undead monsters, starting with Maddy’s closest friends. The Zerkers pick a perfect time to plan their attack – prom night! Can the three new friends ban together and stop these zombies in their undead tracks before its too late? I thought this book was a pretty easy read. I wasn’t expecting the climax to go the way it did, or the ending, but it made the book all that much better. Over all, it was very enjoyable. It is definitely geared towards the younger teens, not youngest, but high school freshmen. What didn’t work was the ending. I was expecting something less cliff hanger and more zombie murking. I expected the climax at prom to be more intense than what it turned out to be, but I still enjoyed the book. There was even a few sad parts as well that I definitely wasn’t expecting. Overall, it was a good book, not too long, had an easy to follow plot with a few unexpected twists and turns.

quick read, not very discriptive. I guess the whole story line was alright. i didn't find myself specifically drawn to this book. Its an okay read. I'll recommend it for people who like quick books.
