Pretty good, but a little hard to get into.
What could be better on a cold winter’s night than a cozy mystery set in beautiful Martha’s Vineyard?
Down-to-earth 92-year-old Victoria Trumball is a lifelong resident of the Vineyard, a renowned poet – and because she knows everyone and everything on the island, has also been made a Police Deputy. In this 10th story in the series, Victoria has rented a room in her sprawling Vineyard house to Orion Nanopoulis, who has started a company to lay fibre-optic cable across the island. But when Orion’s major investor, who just may have mob connections, turns up dead, his company may become vulnerable to an unscrupulous takeover, or fail entirely. Worse, it appears someone may be out to get him, too. It’s up to Victoria, with her inimitable common sense, local knowledge and powers of deduction to unravel the crime.
Another light but charming mystery from Cynthia Riggs who, as a thirteenth- generation Islander, knows the Vineyard like no one else, and brings it to life with colourful characters and a warm sense of humour.
There are unexpected twists and turns in this story, even after you think you have figured out who the "bad guys" are. Great book!
