Unfortunately, not a great movie- it has palm reading, meditating and other occultic things. I thought it would be great for a family movie night- it was turned off half way through.

Might be very good for children (?),.. but only mildly interesting for sci-fi buffs.

A few years ago i was reading an audio magazine that reviewed several movies, including this one. The reviewer gave it a thumb up for sound and visual effects. So one day while at a video outlet i just happen to see this movie. I'm happy and a bit surprised to say that i really enjoyed this movie. The visual effects were good and the sound i would consider "all around sound" but that dosen't mean it not good for your HOMETHEATER!!!! In fact it's quite the opposite. All my speakers, including my surrounds were alive. I found the story to be cool and a little sad but i enjoyed it. It's a movie i could watched more than once and it part of my collection. However, i was even more suprised to hear Rodger Waters sing the closing track. It sound great on my system. I'll give this movie 4 stars. Very good visual and audio effects,a cool story, unusual toys, a very cool sound track and it's an InfiniFilm. A large bowl of Beans and franks, two teaspoons of sugar, 3 slices of whole wheat bread, 2 packs of "Little Debbie's" Swiss Rolls, and milk.

One of the best sci-fi fantasy adventures since ET. Little Rhiannon is cute. Her performance in the movie is amazing at her age at that time.

This movie had a lot of potential as a sci-fi and it pulled in some great ideas. Unfortunately I felt they rushed much of it and many of the characters were inconsistent. Also they introduced concepts which were never used and some things came out of nowhere. The whole thing sounds like a great premise for a childrens book series, but poorly executed in this case.
It was kinda creepy for the young children. They could have some serious nightmares.
Also the American Anti-Terrorists seem to be terrorists themselves, and in the end they just walk away? Serious enough to assault the family members and harass their friends but not enough to find out whats going on. Huge hole in the story there.
All that said, the spider bridge, the bunnies in time, etc will stick with me for a long time.

Fantasy in children where day to day events are intermixed with extraordinary fantastic imaginations and happenings. It is too magical to be a science fiction but who would know!

Not particularly awful, but definitely not worth seeing. I found the movie kept on trying to create some scientific explanation for the events, but none of them ever tied into the rest of the plot.

Underlying the film are some decent science-fiction concepts & characterizations--including entertaining, New-Age, yuppie Buddhists and an effective dramatization of the mutual credibility divide between children and adults. But unfortunately, clumsy execution and in particular the badly affected child lead who plays Emma severely undermine the film's good points.
