There is no happily ever after in Camelot. That was the point. It looked ideal, but it wasn't. This is the worst of the versions that I have seen. Disappointing given the cast.

Yet another twist of the Arthur & Camelot story - there is no "grail thing" (darn ;-) - but I found it very enjoyable, both in action & romance vs integrity complexities. Albeit which were the only complexities, if we can call them that. Still- great acting, some fun and humor, good military strategies, a touch of feudal politics, all in a high drama but otherwise simple-plotted theme for a twist on that same old feel-good chivalry-based moral story.

Entertaining (family) movie. The characters didn't best suit the roles, but elements of suspense, drama, action, and romance were all present in this movie. "Knight rescues damsel in distress" theme throughout.

More like "Worst Knight," you know? Pretty terrible "update" on the Arthur legend. Richard Gere is woefully, tragically, miscast as Lancelot. Sean Connery as Arthur and Julia Ormond as Guinevere are better, but seem a little lost is this high school drama department caliber production. Directed (If that's the word.) by Jerry Zucker, who did "Ghost" and "Airplane!" When you get bored, spot the two future "Game of Thrones" cast members. Was supposed to be followed by "First Knight 2: Camelot Drift."

I was sort of enjoying this since I really like Sean Connery, but the pos disc froze at chapter 36 of 46 chapters. The library needs to discard a bunch of its junk.

Chivalry is not dead, and Gryffindor-types are drawn to stories that prove this point. For a max dose of chivalrous activity, check out First Night. Gere and Sean Connery in Camelot...enough said.

It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”

I had to watch this during class and I bet everyone fell asleep. If you like medieval times then this novel is for you.
