A collection of articles by the syndicated columnist explores topics ranging from shark fishing and UFO sightings to answering machines, rock bands, presidential politics, and home shopping

Since Dave Barry writes about weird things, you might be tempted to think he has a weird brain. He does, of course, but that's not the whole explanation: A lot of the things he writes about - exploding Pop-Tarts, for example - are real. In fact, Dave's main job as a humor columnist - aside from playing Stealth Fighter on his computer to avoid writing humor columns - is to point out what is already funny in a world that is seriously bonkers.

This is the 3rd book by Barry that I've read in the last month. His writings are so amusing, one can't help chuckling. He makes comments on everyday things in our lives and helps us see the humor.

The funniest part of this whole book was the column he wrote asking readers to send in song titles & lyrics they thought were awful. I laughed out loud when recalling these awful songs, & when I read what others thought about these songs. Otherwise, the book was so-so. I seemed to think just reading Dave's column in the newspaper was funnier than in his books, which seems really odd. But I've read 3 of his books so far, and they were barely funny.
