Excellent analysis of end of life decisions when a family is divided. Recommend. Kristi & Abby Tabby

I’m not emotionally drawn to wolves (the way I am, for example, to elephants in Picoult’s "Leaving Time"), so I wasn’t as fully engaged in this book. But I did appreciate how she uses alternating chapters in Luke’s voice, despite his…

This is the first book by Jodi Picoult that I have read. I'd always just assumed that she wrote those romance-y "women's lit" popular fiction novels, with Important Messages about Feelings and Relationships. And while there is a bit of the…

What a great way to examine family drama, by witnessing side by side the roles of the tightly woven, intensely loyal wolf pack with the roles members of a family play in the drama that their stories create. Once again, Jodi Picoult’s deep…

A family saga about secrets, lies, remorse, and regret that all come together when the husband/father figure is in a tragic accident. The accident first pushes the family apart but as the secrets of the past start coming out, what's…

I absolutely loved this book. Gorgeously written, heart-wrenching storyline. It felt like the characters were real.

Stunningly written book. There is a wolf sanctuary in Conroe Texas where I want to go for "howl night". The information written about the pack, the rankings, the job of each wolf, and the manner in which they conduct themselves is…

As usual Picoult tells a great story. I like the method she uses of telling the story from multiple voices. This is especially effective on audio when there are multiple narrators - great listening experience. However, I was not as…

Another absorbing and thought-provoking Jodi Picoult story - always enjoy her books, and this was no exception.

Great novel - particularly loved all the chapters about wolf life and behaviour, and wolf-human interactions, both in the wild and in a reserve.

Another powerful family drama by Ms.Picoult. A heart-wrenching look at members of a family that come together after years of separation to let an often neglectful father die. Poignant and insightful. No one writes about family…

If you are at all interested in wolves, I highly recommend "Never Cry Wolf" by Farley Mowat, a lively memoir of studying wolves in the wild that reads like fiction.

Great Author 5* - this one just wasn't one of my favorites. Her in-depth research and reality with the issues she features is what makes her novels (usually) so incredible. For me, this one went too far into the wolf/researcher side…

Another fantastic novel by Jodi. Loved the story line. As always she had me guessing till the end. Enjoyed learning about wolves also.

This was an absolutely wonderful book! Jodi interwove the story of a family in moral conflict and grievances between siblings with that of a wolf pack. The information gained about wolves was terrific! A must read - especially if you…

Quite enjoyed it. Maybe a bit drawn out in places, but didn't reflect in my rating.

Book was very dull to me, by far my least favorite of her stories.

Well-written, but very reminiscent of Ms. Picoult's other works. Also, the point of view jumps around quite a bit, distracting from the story, and I found one character extremely dislikable.

I liked the story & characters but did not care for "Barney" ending the story. For me the end would have been perfect with the last "Cara" passage.

I agree that Picoult is formulaic. For me, however, what matters is if the content within the formula is creative and well done. This novel meets that criteria for me. The comparison between the human family and wolf family dynamics was…
