This book was so good! I loved the ending and how the story played out, it was nice to see how the character grows from spoiled to a hardworking girl but she always had a positive outlook. It was a nice quick read too, would definitely…

I absolutely adore this book! It's definitely one of my top favorites! The story just flowed naturally as Kit navigated her new life with her aunt and uncle. I especially loved how at the trial, all the small details came together to shape…

Battling back against puritanical prejudice to find who you are is practically an American institution, and, as in this classic, makes for some compelling reading.
Wonderful book!!! I was a little bored at the beginning, but after pushing through, I got to the good part and loved it! I love the feeling and anticipation you get when reading the parts with the three girls and who they like. Watching…
I'm not much of a historical fiction reader, but I decided to give this one a try. I'm sure glad I did. I just wanted to climb right into the book and fight for Kit. A truly riveting and engaging read.

I could read this book over and over again!! I loved the main character, Kit Tyler and her adventures. I really felt the emotion in this book. I would highly recommend it.
This tale of a teenage girl who moves from Barabados to Connecticut in the 1680's has it all- romance! Danger! Suspense! I fell in love with the feisty heroine, Kit, the first time I read this book 20 years ago.

No wonder it was a Newbery Award winner, it's very well written. It does a great job of highlighting colonial life and the superstition of that time in an accessible and interesting way. I would say it is as engaging as the Laura Ingalls…
